DUBAI, Nov 14 - RIA Novosti. Moscow is negotiating with Ankara to help create a fifth-generation Turkish fighter, Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia, told RIA Novosti at the Dubai Airshow.
Earlier, the United States refused to sell Turkey a fifth-generation F-35 fighter due to the fact that it bought S-400 air defense systems from Russia. The President of Turkey at MAKS-2019 inspected the Russian fifth-generation fighter Su-57.
"Russia has repeatedly expressed its readiness to assist the Republic of Turkey (in the creation of a fifth-generation fighter - ed.) while we are at the stage of negotiations on this project," Shugaev said.
