Kiev. November 13. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - The Ukrainian naval forces conducted a "PASSEX" type training with ships of the US Navy, Turkey and Romania, the public relations service of the Command of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
"In the Black Sea, the ships of the Ukrainian Navy took part in the "PASSEX" type training with the ships of the US Navy, Turkey and Romania. Among others, the flagship of the US 6th Fleet, the control ship Mount Whitney, was involved. The aircraft of the US Navy was also involved - a P-8 Poseidon patrol aircraft and a helicopter. In total, seven ships took part in the training, two of which were from the Ukrainian Navy - the patrol boat Slavyansk and the medium landing ship Yuri Olefirenko," the service said in a Facebook message.
It is noted that the purpose of the training was to work out interaction as part of a multinational tactical group in accordance with NATO standards and to increase the level of compatibility with the Alliance fleets.
