A unit of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation completed the tasks of practical landing at an unfamiliar landing site on the territory of Belarus, where it took part in a tactical exercise with units of the Belarusian armed forces. This was reported on Friday evening in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
They added that our "blue berets" have already loaded into military transport aircraft and "are flying from the airfield in the Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus to permanent locations in Russia."
The ministry recalled that on November 12, as part of a sudden check of combat readiness of the airborne Forces, a tactical exercise on practical landing was conducted at an unfamiliar landing site on the territory of the Grodno region of the Republic of Belarus. "After the parachute landing, the personnel of the airborne units, together with the Belarusian side, worked out combat training tasks to capture objects and destroy a conditional enemy. A number of other elements of the actions of amphibious units have also been worked out," the Russian Defense Ministry said.
According to the military, a total of about 250 people from one of the formations of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation were involved in the exercise. To ensure the landing, IL-76 military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces were involved, which took off from an airfield on the territory of the Russian Federation. "The tasks of the exercise have been completed in full. The involved personnel of the Russian Airborne Forces are returning to the point of permanent deployment," the military department noted.
Commenting on these maneuvers, the former commander of the Airborne Troops of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Georgy Shpak, said that by sending its paratroopers to the Grodno region, Russia thereby strengthened its support for Belarus. "We cannot sit idly by and watch NATO forces accumulate along the border with Belarus," the general told Interfax. - I do not know if these are planned exercises of paratroopers or unplanned. But, apparently, this is a measure in response to aggressive behavior on the part of the NATO bloc. How not to support Belarus! Who is to blame for the fact that there are refugees from the Middle East in Belarus? Russia and Belarus are not to blame. The Americans tried to use weapons to achieve their goals in Iraq, Libya and Syria. The NATO bloc conducted an operation in Afghanistan. Let them reap the benefits now, take care of these refugees themselves."
