According to Rostec, the fighter is capable of performing tasks outside the enemy's air defense zone

MOSCOW, November 12. /tass/. The newest light tactical aircraft (LTS) Checkmate, developed by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec State Corporation), will be able to fight all types of targets on the battlefield. This was reported to TASS in Rostec as part of the special project "Su-Checkmate fighter. The dark horse of aviation of the future."

"The Checkmate fighter is equipped with a multidisciplinary set of weapons capable of dealing with any threat - from unprotected command posts to targets that are particularly sensitive to a potential enemy," the state corporation said.

According to Rostec, Checkmate is capable of performing tasks outside the enemy's air defense zone. "It is important that the machine is able to perform its tasks outside the air defense zone, saving the life of the pilot," the company noted.

About the fighter

For the first time, the Checkmate LTS was presented at the MAKS-2021 air Show. The foreign presentation of the fighter will take place at the Dubai Airshow 2021 International Airshow, which will be held from November 14 to 18 in the United Arab Emirates.

Checkmate includes all the most advanced developments, including an open architecture for building in the interests of the customer and unique artificial intelligence technologies. The aircraft is made using stealth technologies. The fighter can simultaneously hit up to six targets. The speed will be Mach 1.8, and the combat radius will be 3 thousand km.

The combat load of the fighter is 7,400 kg, it is placed in the inner armament compartment and under the wing on 11 suspension points. It includes air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, as well as adjustable aerial bombs and unguided weapons.

In addition to the home market, Checkmate will primarily focus on African countries, India, and Vietnam. The car will most likely receive the Su-75 index and will be assembled at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur plant. It is planned that the new Russian aircraft will compete with the American F-35A Lightning II fighter and the Swedish JAS-39 Gripen.
