Moscow. November 12. INTERFAX - The Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) is working with Roscosmos to create robots to study the Moon, there is no development agreement yet, Academy President Alexander Sergeev told Interfax.
"There is no agreement with Roscosmos, but they have an understanding. They launched the Fedor robot a couple of years ago, in my opinion, and we are working together with them on this topic," Sergeyev said on Friday.
According to him, the Russian Academy of Sciences considers it possible to create such robots by the end of the 20s.
"I really hope that this is exactly the direction where Russia can have an advantage, because it is a new direction and we have a good base to promote it. And the moon is just the right place," he added.
In September, Sergeev proposed to send robots with artificial intelligence there before a manned flight to the moon.
