Its elements can be placed on a drone, said the head of the RCBZ troops, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov
MOSCOW, November 12. /tass/. The new RPO-2 flamethrower, the elements of which can be placed on a drone, is being developed for the units of the radiation, chemical and biological protection forces of Russia. This was announced in an interview with the newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda" by the head of the RCBZ troops, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
"Currently, the improvement of flamethrower-incendiary weapons is also continuing. So, work is underway to create a new set of fire-destruction equipment (RPO-2) for flamethrower units of the RCB protection troops with increased combat capabilities, including the placement of sighting and shooting complexes on UAVs," Kirillov said.
Currently, the Russian army is armed with a reactive infantry flamethrower with an aerosol flammable substance RPO-A "Bumblebee". It is a projectile-rocket filled with a mixture of fire. When a rocket explodes, the mixture is sprayed with its subsequent detonation - the high-temperature pulse created is accompanied by a sharp pressure drop.
