Polish Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak said that the Polish military will arm themselves with American-made armored cars. In 2022, the USA will transfer 300 used Cougar cars. Defence24 writes about this.
The vehicles will be transferred as part of the program for the sale of surplus military equipment. The cost of the transaction will include delivery and accessories. The amount of the contract is not disclosed. The publication notes that the Polish Defense Ministry explains the purchase of Cougar operational necessity. The first cars will be delivered to Poland in 2022.
Cougar belongs to the class of machines with mine-Resistant Ambush Protected. The four-wheel drive car received a special bottom that dissipates the energy of the blast wave. MRAP Cougar has been produced since 2002.
Earlier, the Military Industrial Company published a video showing an armored pickup truck "MIC-Ural". The new Russian armored car provides mine protection for the crew.
In October, servicemen of special units of the Central Military District worked out a new tactic of using Tiger armored vehicles. The crews used the "tiger carousel" to repel the attack of a conditional enemy.
