Also, for the first time in the Middle East, the company will demonstrate a full-size mock-up of the flagship Orion-E long-duration unmanned aerial vehicle
MOSCOW, November 11. /tass/. The Kronstadt Company will show a drone swarm control system using artificial intelligence and augmented reality technologies at the Dubai Airshow 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This was reported on Thursday in the press service of the company.
"The Kronstadt company at the Dubai Airshow 2021 international Airshow in the United Arab Emirates will present a new automated workplace (ARM) of the operator for managing group actions of complexes with unmanned aerial vehicles," the message says.
It is noted that the ARM has an absolutely new graphical interface developed by specialists of the Kronstadt company. "The complex uses advanced information technologies, including elements of artificial intelligence and augmented reality with a 3D picture of the terrain," the press service stressed.
Kronstadt JSC clarified that when using the new system, the operator, instead of directly controlling the drones, will be able to perform only the upper goal setting.
"The main operations related to the control of the flight, the management of systems, the solution of the target task, the interaction between the sides within the UAV group will be performed by a computer using elements of artificial intelligence. This approach will allow Russian drones to move to a new stage of development and become semi-autonomous, rather than automatically controlled," the company stressed.
"Now the operator does not have to look for goals in the video stream on his own, the machine will tell him informative elements that are worth paying attention to. And instead of building a flight route with his hands, pointing to each point on the map, he simply puts a search zone, and the UAVs themselves will determine the optimal order for completing the task, taking into account the forces and means of the enemy, terrain conditions and meteorological conditions. At the same time, they also "agree" among themselves on the division of "responsibilities" and priorities in solving the task. This is a new stage in the development of drone management, which will make them more independent," the press service quoted the words of the General Director of Kronstadt JSC Sergey Bogatikov.
"Orion-E"
Kronstadt JSC also reported that for the first time in the Middle East, the company will demonstrate at the UAE air show a full-size mock-up of the flagship Orion-E long-duration unmanned aerial vehicle in a reconnaissance and strike version and with a satellite communication system that allows to significantly increase its range and receive data from a drone almost anywhere in the world.
The Dubai Airshow 2021 International Airshow will be held in Dubai from November 14 to 18.
