WASHINGTON, Nov 11 - RIA Novosti. Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that NATO's actions in the Black Sea are a waste of time and effort, as well as a test of the strength of the Russian army and navy.
"It is alarming that today's meeting in Washington took place against the background of a sharp aggravation of the situation in the Black Sea. The NATO naval and air forces are testing the strength of our army and navy. This is a waste of time and effort," Antonov is quoted as saying on the embassy's Facebook page.
Earlier, the sixth fleet of the US Navy reported that the flagship command ship Mount Whitney headed to the Black Sea to conduct joint operations with the forces of the North Atlantic Alliance. On Monday, Mount Whitney and Porter entered the Georgian port of Batumi. The Russian Defense Ministry said that the actions of the US Navy in the Black Sea are a destabilizing factor, one of the goals is the military development of the territory of Ukraine.
