Roscosmos has signed a contract with its parent scientific institute TsNIIMash to develop proposals, recommendations, requirements for promising technologies, elements and systems of rocket and space technology products that ensure the reliable implementation of manned flights to the Moon, according to the public procurement portal.
"This research work is carried out within the framework of the Pastoral Research Institute "Applied research of problematic issues of the implementation of manned flights to the Moon, the creation of key elements and technologies, including life support and biomedical directions, ensuring the safe stay and work of astronauts in lunar orbit and the surface of the Moon," the technical task says.
In particular, tactical and technical tasks for the ROC will be developed to create a spacesuit for working on the surface of the Moon, a small manned transport ship, a lunar take-off and landing ship, a cargo landing ship, a lunar rover builder, a manned lunar rover, habitable, free-floating and energy modules of the lunar station and other objects that will be used during the implementation of the manned program on the Moon.
The contract also includes work on the development of technical requirements for the Russian Orbital Station and its modules, including a centrifuge.
The contract was signed on November 18. The work will be carried out until November 14, 2025.
