MOSCOW, Nov 10 - RIA Novosti. Russia has managed to do a lot in the field of diversification of defense industries in five years, but in the future it needs to work more effectively in this direction, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the military-industrial commission.
"Specific tasks and guidelines in this area were outlined back in 2016, and, it should be noted, a lot has been done over the past five years. In recent years, the output of civilian products in the total production of the defense industry has been steadily growing. If in 2018 its share was 20.9%, and in 2019 - 24.1%, then by the end of 20 it is already 25.6%. Moreover, in a number of defense industries, these indicators are even higher. At the same time, we need to work much more effectively in this direction in the future. There are certainly reserves for this," Putin said.
