"The zone of capture and destruction [by the complex] of typical air targets has been increased by 2.5 times, and the protection of the complex from pyrotechnic interference has been increased at least 10 times at the Willow. It is now impossible to deceive missiles by launching heat traps - the homing head automatically selects them and focuses on the desired object. In short, we are talking about a unique innovative technology," Litovkin said.
According to him, in flight, the Willow rocket is controlled in autonomous mode. "The homing system is designed so that it can deceive the anti-missile systems of targets. The fighter is now practically required only to press the start button, and then the rocket will do everything by itself. The "friend -foe" recognition system significantly reduces the risk of damage to friendly aircraft," the expert added.
According to Litovkin, "Willow" is distinguished by a unique homing head. "It works in the ultraviolet, near infrared and mid-infrared ranges, and even multi-site. No one in the world makes such a homing head except us," the expert said.
