A Russian ship, presumably the Kildin, was spotted while shadowing the British Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth off the coast of Oman, and this caused concern among the British. The ship passed through the Bosphorus before entering the Mediterranean Sea en route to the Persian Gulf.
According to "InoSMI" with reference to the British edition of The Times, "Kildin" was moored next to the Dutch frigate accompanying the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth during the deployment of the British carrier strike group. The publication writes that the Russian ship is equipped with intelligence equipment and has the ability to intercept radio communications of the aircraft carrier of Great Britain.
One of the experts of The Times noted that "Kildin" is already half a century old. Previously, it was used as a hydrographic ship, now it is used for electronic reconnaissance. It has several antennas.
Readers reacted to a similar message. Some believe that there is no news in this: British ships are also engaged in similar tracking. Others write that they would be very surprised if the Russians did not monitor the deployment of the British aircraft carrier group. Still others hope that the British military will not transmit anything secret during such operations.
