TSAMTO, November 9th. The Greek Air Force is considering the possibility of acquiring 30 used EF-2000 Typhoon fighters from the presence of the British Air Force.
As the resource reports Aerotime.aero With reference to Greek Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos, British Typhoons should be decommissioned in 2025. Thus, it seems a "great" opportunity for the Greek Air Force to write off 18 obsolete F-4E "Phantom-2", which are currently in operation.
Earlier it was reported that the EF-2000 Typhoon fighters of the first tranche of the British Air Force are expected to be decommissioned in 2025 with an average flight time of 2,545 hours or 42% of the flight resource generation.
Variant EF-2000 "Typhoon" Tranche.1 – the most "senior" of the four developed versions - is limited to the use of air-to-air missiles and has very limited capabilities to combat ground targets.
