The Russian experimental combat robot "Marker" has proved that it can patrol the area for two and a half days without stopping for refueling.
The 3x3 wheeled platform was tested at the factory site.
Alexey Bogdanov, the chief designer of the NGO Android Technology, told RIA Novosti that the robot was moving along a predetermined route under different lighting and weather conditions. The testers "drove" the car for ten hours.
"The remaining fuel reserve after the experiment would be enough for another 50 hours of driving, which is one of the best indicators of autonomy in the world," the designer said.
A low consumption indicator - three liters of diesel fuel per 100 kilometers is provided by a hybrid power plant and an electric motor that adds another hour of movement on batteries.
It should be noted that earlier the Marker robot started experimental patrolling of the Vostochny cosmodrome. The robotic platform, weighing about three tons, can be a carrier of machine-gun and rocket weapons, as well as be used to launch aerial drones.
