The camera was chosen as the first object to be restored, because failures in the operation of this device are rare
TASS, November 9. The team of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), servicing the Hubble Space Telescope, restored the operation of one of its cameras after the entire telescope went into safe mode due to a loss of synchronization.
"The team [servicing the Hubble telescope] has successfully restored the operation of the Advanced Camera for Surveys instrument, it has started scientific observations," a statement posted on the agency's website said on Monday. NASA added that the camera was chosen as the first object to be restored, because failures in the operation of this device are rare.
It is noted that other instruments of the orbital observatory, which have also switched to safe operation, will remain in it while the agency continues to check failures in the system.
Earlier, NASA reported that on October 23, the instruments on the telescope began to signal the loss of a special synchronization message, already on the 25th the telescope autonomously switched to safe mode, in which it continues to function until now.
