In August, China tested a hypersonic missile that circled the globe in a low orbit before taking aim at a pre-determined object.
They say that the rocket missed the target by only 38 kilometers.
According to available information, a Long March rocket was used in the tests - the same type that the Chinese use to send taikonauts into space.
The most striking thing is that the space rocket was allegedly equipped with a glider capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
"If the information that China has tested a hypersonic glider with nuclear potential together with a space rocket is true, it means that all this has been tried in one context for the first time in history. And no other country has such a combination in its arsenal," nuclear scientist from the Institute of Defense Studies Halvor Kipe told the Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen.
