The Russian Federal Nuclear Center is the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics named after Academician E. I. Zababakhin developed and patented an unmanned aerial vehicle with resettable wings, which is characterized by increased maneuverability. This was reported by the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), reports TASS .
"The invention relates to the field of aircraft engineering, in particular to the design of intelligent aerial munitions and unmanned aerial vehicles," the patent notes.
The aircraft will be able to bend around the surface at extremely low speed, for this it has additional wings installed, which are located inside the drone. During the execution of the combat mission, they are put forward and fixed. In the tail part there is an engine, in the nose there is a controlled front vertical tail.
When moving at extremely high speed in the final part of the task, additional wings can be dropped in flight. It is noted that the aircraft can search for a target and select them by distance using video modules of the optical homing head.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia has a high level of military security due to the presence of weapons that have no analogues in the world. In November, the head of state announced that the Russian army has more than two thousand drones in service.
