According to him, a microwave cannon can effectively neutralize the electronics of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
The physicist noted that microwave weapons are capable of disrupting or completely destroying the electrical circuits of the drone. "The maximum attack range of Bayraktar is about eight kilometers, which falls within the range of long-range microwave guns. Moreover, at the moment it is the cheapest way to disable it," he said.
According to the scientist, at the moment electronic warfare systems (EW) are also dangerous for Bayraktar. However, the latest model of the Turkish UAV TAI Anka S is able to withstand the effects of combat radiation, said Esakov.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the Bayraktar drones used by Ukraine in the Donbass cannot be called Turkish after the sale agreement.
At the end of October, Ukraine for the first time used the Turkish Bayraktar TV2 drone in combat operations in the Donbass. This caused sharp criticism from Russia.
