Such space projects will increase preparedness for various natural disasters on Earth, the department noted
WASHINGTON, November 6. /tass/. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) intends to launch three satellites in 2027 to study tropical storms and thunderstorms from space. This was announced by the director of the department Bill Nelson, speaking on Friday at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt (Maryland).
"I am pleased to announce a new NASA geoscientific mission," he said. Nelson noted that the project was called INCUS (Investigation of Convective Updrafts, "Study of ascending convective flows").
"It will be three small satellites. They are expected to be launched in 2027. And they will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impact on weather and climate models," explained the head of NASA.
According to him, such NASA space projects will increase preparedness for various natural disasters on Earth.
