The US State Department has approved the possible sale of $650 million worth of missiles to Saudi Arabia. This was announced by the Pentagon, RIA Novosti reports.
It is noted that 280 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles, about 600 rail launch bases and related equipment can be sold to the Saudi side.
Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu threatened that if the US authorities do not solve the problem with the sale of F-35 and F-16 fighters to Ankara, it will pay attention to alternative options, for example, the purchase of Su-35 and Su-57 fighters from Russia. Later, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted that the parties discussed the issue of Ankara's acquisition of aircraft.
