"The forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet have begun monitoring the actions of the US Navy's Mount Whitney staff ship, which entered the Black Sea waters on November 4, 2021," the NCSO said.
On October 30, the US Navy destroyer USS Porter, equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles, entered the Black Sea, the US 6th Operational Fleet reported. According to the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, the Russian military immediately began tracking him.
The USS Mount Whitney is the flagship of the 6th Operational Fleet.
