Google Corporation intends to resume work with the Pentagon on its military program.
The company will provide the US Department of Defense with its technologies, the New York Times writes, citing its sources.
The NYT notes that in 2018, Google abandoned the Pentagon project after employees opposed it. Now the corporation plans to resume cooperation with the US Department of Defense and is developing a new proposal for the department.
In particular, Google may participate in the Joint Warfighter Cloud Capability military project. Google and the Pentagon will work together to modernize technologies and develop the use of artificial intelligence in the military field. The possible contract will replace the JEDI cloud storage infrastructure project, which was rejected by the Pentagon and because of which Microsoft and Amazon were suing.
