Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to continue creating military hospitals to combat coronavirus in those regions where the most difficult situation is observed. This was announced on November 3 by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
"Yesterday this was discussed at a meeting with the Ministry of Defense, and yesterday President Putin spoke about it with Minister Shoigu. Military doctors have already moved to a number of regions. And the president was instructed to continue the creation of such hospitals," he said at a briefing.
The Kremlin spokesman stressed that military doctors had been sent to a number of territories.
Earlier, on November 2, the chief freelance infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Chulanov, told Izvestia that now more than 290 thousand beds are open in the country, which is a record compared to the vulgar peak of morbidity, when a maximum of 270 thousand beds worked. According to him, only in 13 regions there is a slight decrease in the incidence, and in the rest — an increase.
On November 1, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called for reducing the burden on doctors against the background of COVID-19. According to him, against the background of non-working days, it is necessary to reduce the rate of morbidity and equalize the burden on the healthcare system so that all patients can continue to receive the necessary medical care.
On October 30, more than 30 military doctors of the Central Military District (CVO) began work on the treatment of patients with coronavirus in medical institutions of the Republic of Khakassia. Military specialists have begun to provide assistance to patients in four medical institutions in the region in Abakan and Chernogorsk. The relevant instructions were given by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation on behalf of the President.
Earlier, on October 28, it was reported that the Ministry of Defense will increase assistance to Russian regions in the fight against COVID-19. So, 65 specialists of the military department are involved in the treatment of patients in Tula. In addition, at the request of the Governor of the Moscow region Andrey Vorobyov, a specialized hospital will be deployed in the region, for which medical and nursing teams have already been allocated.
A large-scale vaccination has been taking place in Russia since January. Citizens are vaccinated for free. Five coronavirus vaccines have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, Sputnik Lite, Epivaccorona, Epivaccorona-N and Kovivak.
