The Global Thunder 22 exercises, which will focus on testing the readiness of nuclear forces, have begun in the United States. This was announced by the Strategic Command (STRATCOM) of the US Armed Forces on its website .
It is noted that Global Thunder 22 provides an opportunity for training in all areas of the command mission with a special focus on the readiness of nuclear forces. During them, the military will assess the ability of individual STRATCOM components to carry out deterrence and conduct joint operations in case of possible aggression against the United States or one of its allies.
"Global Thunder 22 will apply the experience of global operations in coordination with other combat groups, services and involved US government agencies in order to deter, detect and, if necessary, repel strategic attacks against the US and its allies," they explained.
Earlier it became known that the United States and South Korea launched joint exercises. At the same time, the countries dispensed with any warning and did not disclose detailed information about the maneuvers being practiced. According to sources, about a hundred pieces of equipment are involved in them.
