Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow will respond to attempts to break strategic parity adequately to the situation. He said this on November 1 during a meeting in Sochi with the leadership of the military-industrial complex and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Currently, Russia's foreign colleagues are deploying elements of global missile defense in close proximity to Russia's borders, the President stressed
"We cannot ignore these threats to Russia's security and we will respond appropriately to the situation," he said.
Therefore, during the meeting, the issue of strengthening the Aerospace Forces will be considered, the leader explained.
"Their combat readiness and technical equipment directly depend on the reliable protection of Russia from an air and space attack, the maintenance of strategic parity," Putin said.
As the President noted, the meeting is attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, leading organizations of the military-industrial complex.
"Such a format, as we have repeatedly stated, allows for a comprehensive analysis of the state of Russia's defense capability on a regular basis and, if necessary, timely adjust and update plans for the modernization of the army and navy, to improve the work of enterprises of the military-industrial complex," he added.
The press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov warned about a series of meetings planned by the head of state at the end of October.
From May 25 to 27, Putin also held a series of meetings on military-industrial topics. According to the interlocutors of Izvestia, the head of state focused on the development of hypersonic weapons systems, military lasers and robotic equipment with elements of artificial intelligence.
