MOSCOW, Nov 1 - RIA Novosti. The mortality rate from coronavirus in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has halved in 2021 compared to 2020, the incidence has decreased approximately the same way, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"The mortality rate in the Armed Forces from covid has been halved compared to last year due to vaccination, and if we compare it with all-Russian indicators, then our mortality rate is 45 times lower than the indicators for the country," Shoigu said at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and representatives of the defense industry.
The Minister clarified that these indicators concern not only the military, but also their relatives, as well as civilian personnel. He added that the incidence of COVID in 2021 in the army is 44% lower than a year earlier.
