The Marine Instrumentation Corporation (KMP) will create a development center at Innopolis University to test systems for unmanned navigation and other tasks. This is reported by TASS.
An agreement on scientific and technical cooperation was signed between the Government of Tatarstan and JSC "KMP". The parties agreed to work together on mutually beneficial scientific, technical and innovative projects— the message reads.
It is noted that on the basis of the new center, they will develop and test autonomous navigation systems, including unmanned navigation, navigation systems, and security systems for marine infrastructure facilities. In addition, it is planned to design and build vessels for geophysical and hydrotechnical research with the participation of Tatarstan enterprises.
The parties agreed to work out the issue of creating a testing ground in Tatarstan for unmanned vessels and underwater vehicles for scientific and industrial purposes with the participation of enterprises of the republic, the message reads.
Also, within the framework of the agreement, the parties will organize joint training and internships for specialists of the corporation.
Historically, we have been working very closely with Tatarstan enterprises, for example, with the Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky. I hope that with the signing of this agreement, our relations with Tatarstan will only strengthen. We have already visited Innopolis and identified with our colleagues the main directions of our joint work. We consider further cooperation with Innopolis University to be very promising—" said Leonid Strugov, CEO of Marine Instrumentation Corporation JSC.
Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov noted that Innopolis has good opportunities for cooperation with KMP JSC in six priority areas.
I am sure that this cooperation will bring fruitful results and will allow implementing the civil direction in the activities of KMP JSC, taking into account the competencies that Innopolis already has and will expand within the framework of the federal Research center for Artificial Intelligence recently established on the basis of Innopolis University," Shaikhutdinov said.
Marine Instrumentation Corporation JSC is the main developer and manufacturer of instruments and equipment in the field of high-precision navigation, gyroscopy, gravimetry, dynamic positioning, electronic surveillance systems in surface vessels, submarines and space.
