MOSCOW, October 31/ Sputnik Radio. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on the US sending ships to the Black Sea to "ensure security and stability," RIA Novosti reports.
On the eve it became known that the Porter destroyer armed with cruise missiles entered the named water area, which was monitored by units of the Black Sea Fleet.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, the appearance of ships under the American flag "does not add stability to the situation."
The diplomat also noted that NATO's plans to establish naval bases on the Black Sea coast of Romania and Bulgaria do not meet the interests of good neighborliness in the region.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, NATO seeks to make the Black Sea an arena for a new confrontation.
