Taiwanese Exoskeleton
Experts from the Zhongshan Institute of Science and Technology (Taiwan) have created an exoskeleton for the lower body, which will significantly increase the physical capabilities of military personnel on the battlefield.
The exoskeleton is part of the Taiwan Ironman program with a budget of 5.7 million dollars, designed for four years. According to project manager Jen Kuo-kuang, the suit significantly reduces the load on the legs and joints, which makes it possible for a soldier to carry weights over long distances at a speed of 6.4 km/h. The exoskeleton is powered by built-in rechargeable batteries.

The developers plan to create version 2.0, which will increase the "carrying capacity" of the fighters to 100 kg, which will also allow them to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield on their own. Earlier this year, the main potential opponent of the Taiwanese military– the People's Liberation Army of China, presented its own exoskeleton. Tension has been building between the two countries for a long time, since China still considers Taiwan a breakaway territory.
