"Given the deteriorating security situation in Europe, we confirm that a reliable and unified nuclear alliance is extremely important. In light of this security environment, the allies should continue close consultations on nuclear weapons and arms control issues, especially within the framework of NATO," it says.
It also says that the parties express support for "strengthening the strategic partnership between NATO and the EU." They believe that it is "unique and necessary for the security" of the Euro-Atlantic region and both countries.
Also, the presidents of the United States and France intend to start a strategic dialogue between the United States and France in the field of defense trade.
According to the statement, the leaders of France and the United States intend to strengthen cooperation in the fight against terrorism and, in particular, together with the international coalition to combat the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS, banned in the Russian Federation) will continue to exert pressure on this terrorist network around the world, including in Iraq and Syria.
