The new MTU-4 anti-aircraft gun was shown in Serbia. The development of the Military Technical Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Serbia can use anti-aircraft missiles of the Igla and Strela-2MA complexes. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The installation can simultaneously use four guides with anti-aircraft missiles. The sighting system with a thermal imaging channel makes it possible to detect targets at any time of the day. Also, the MTU-4 was equipped with a complex that allows you to recognize the ownership of the aircraft.
The mobility of the anti-aircraft gun is provided by the Zastava NTV light SUV. The car has a navigation system, a radio station and ammunition. The publication notes that the MTU-4 allows you to hit enemy planes, helicopters and drones.
The article emphasized the similarity of the Serbian development with the Russian support-launcher "Dzhigit", which received two guides for the installation of anti-aircraft missiles. "Dzhigit" allows you to fire multiple rocket launchers of the Igla and Igla-1 complexes.
Earlier, the Polish edition of Defence24 declared the superiority of the portable anti-aircraft missile system Piorun over the Russian "Willow". The publication notes that the range of the Polish development exceeds 6.4 kilometers.
In August, a Russian anti-aircraft gunner hit a Chinese TY-300D missile from the Igla-S MANPADS. The shot was fired during the "Clear Sky" competition within the framework of the Army International Games.
