LIMA (PERU), October 28. /tass/. Russia is ready to supply combat aircraft to Peru if there is a corresponding request. This was announced in an interview with TASS on the eve of the international arms exhibition SITDEF 2021 by the Director General of Rosoboronexport JSC (part of Rostec State Corporation) Alexander Mikheev.
"We confirm our readiness to supply new Russian combat aircraft at the choice of the Peruvian side," he said.
According to him, Russia is also ready to modernize a number of combat aircraft of the Peruvian Air Force. "The Russian side is ready to ensure the modernization of MiG-29 and Su-25 fighters when the Peruvian side addresses this issue," the head of Rosoboronexport added.
As Mikheev noted, Russia is also ready to supply Peru with new Mi-171Sh helicopters. "The Russian side is ready, upon request, to supply the Republic of Peru with any number of Mi-171SH helicopters necessary for the armed forces to perform their tasks, as well as to provide a full cycle of their maintenance, an offset program, and training of Peruvian specialists in their operation," the head of Rosoboronexport added.
The Peruvian Air Force is armed with multi-purpose MiG-29 fighters, Su-25 attack aircraft and Mi-171Sh-P military transport aircraft.
The International Salon of Defense Technologies SITDEF 2021, which opens on Thursday, will be held until October 31 on the territory of the general headquarters of the ground forces in the city of Lima in Peru. The exhibition has been held every two years since 2007. Rosoboronexport is a regular participant of the salon.
