About 50 servicemen participated in the training
VILYUCHINSK (Kamchatka), October 27. /tass/. A detachment to combat underwater sabotage forces and means conducted special exercises in Kamchatka to repel an attack by a sabotage group of a conditional enemy on a permanent deployment point of submarines of the Pacific Fleet.
"According to the legend of the exercises, an unknown group of people on a speedboat attempted to break into the permanent deployment point of submarines of the Pacific Fleet. Having received the signal, the unit of the detachment for combating underwater sabotage forces and means moved to the specified area on an anti-sabotage boat of the Grachonok type," the press service of the Eastern Military District for the Pacific Fleet told reporters on Wednesday about the scenario of maneuvers.
Having cut off the direct path to the fleet submarines, the detachment's capture group on the fast boats Bl-680 and Bl-860 advanced to the offending vessel, where, during detention, it destroyed part of the conditional saboteurs. The remaining violators in diving equipment managed to go under water. To search for them and destroy them on a boat of the Grachonok type, a search station with the Kalmar sonar complex was used. The saboteurs who got out in the area of the pier zone of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet were blocked and destroyed by the fighters of the detachment to combat underwater sabotage forces and means.
As specified in the press service, about 50 military personnel, an anti-sabotage boat of the Grachonok project and high-speed boats of the squadron to combat underwater sabotage forces and means were involved in the training.
Also, during the test exercise, the combat crews of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system worked out actions to protect the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet from an air attack by a simulated enemy with electronic launches of anti-aircraft missiles. "More than 200 servicemen and about 10 pieces of military equipment were involved in the exercises," Major Alexander Burmistrov, commander of the S-400 division, told reporters on Wednesday.
The district also stressed that the exercises were conducted as part of the final inspection for the summer training period and are a stage of preparation for the strategic command and staff exercises "Vostok-2022", which in 2022 will become the main event of combat training of the troops of the Eastern Military District.
