VLADIVOSTOK, October 26. /tass/. A detachment of warships of the Pacific Fleet returned to Vladivostok after the Russian-Chinese exercises "Maritime Interaction", the press service of the fleet reported on Tuesday.
"A detachment of warships of the Pacific Fleet returned to the main base after the completion of the joint exercise of the Navy of the Russian Federation and the Naval forces of the People's Republic of China "Maritime Interaction - 2021". In the near future, the crews of the ships will carry out replenishment of material reserves and scheduled technical inspections, after which they will continue to perform tasks for their intended purpose," the message says.
The exercises took place in the Sea of Japan on October 14-17. The Russian side was represented by warships and support vessels of the Pacific Fleet: the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev, the corvettes of Project 20380 Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and Loud, two base minesweepers, the submarine of Project 877 Ust-Bolsheretsk, as well as a missile boat and a rescue tug. On the Chinese side, the destroyers "Kun Ming" and "Nan Chang", corvettes "Bin Zhou" and "Liu Zhou", as well as a diesel submarine, an integrated supply ship and a rescue vessel were involved.
After the exercises, a detachment of the two countries consisting of 10 warships conducted a joint patrol in the western Pacific Ocean. "The tasks of the joint patrol of the Russian-Chinese detachment were the demonstration of the state flags of Russia and China, the maintenance of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the protection of objects of maritime economic activity of the two countries. During the joint maneuvering, a detachment of ships passed through the Sangar Strait for the first time," the press service explained.
