DUBAI, October 25. /tass/. The Cosmonaut Training Center (CPC) for the first time abroad presented at the Roscosmos stand at the 72nd International Astronautical Congress in Dubai a means for preparing astronauts to control an anthropomorphic robot.
A representative of the Cosmonaut Training Center explained to TASS that the mobile kit was put into operation in June and presented for the first time at the Army-2021 forum.
The manipulator was created in preparation for an experiment to put an anthropomorphic robot into orbit. It is a mobile workplace of a universal computer stand of a robotic system, one of the main parts of which is a master device of a copying type. "As an exoskeleton, it copies the rotations of all joints due to angular position sensors," the specialist explained.
He noted that such equipment has existed for a long time, but in a stationary form. "We have another set, but it is stationary. When the Testator experiment was being prepared, we came to the conclusion that there was little time for preparation, and it was nice to be able to conduct training, for example, at Baikonur. Therefore, it was decided that it was necessary to create a mobile kit," he said, adding that the stationary suit has a reverse force-moment connection, but weighs more than 50 kg.
In addition to a mobile workplace for controlling an anthropomorphic robot, the Roscosmos stand presents models of the multifunctional laboratory module "Science", the orbital complex "Zeus" and the transport and energy module TEM. A mock-up of the launch of the Soyuz-ST launch vehicle from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana is also being demonstrated. In addition, the stand presents TsENKI, Glavkosmos (part of Roscosmos) and the Rocket and Space Corporation Energia.
At the end of March, the NGO "Android Technology" (the developer of the anthropomorphic robot "Fedor", who visited the ISS) signed a contract with RSC Energia to create a new generation robotic complex designed for spacewalking. The first prototype of its scientific equipment will appear in February 2022. The shape of the robot-cosmonaut, its components, and the protocols of docking with the ISS are being worked out now. At the end of January, the organization told TASS that work on the creation of the robot began on December 1, 2020.
