The Russian heavy drone S-70 "Hunter" successfully withstood combat tests at the Ashuluk training ground - in particular, the device carried out bombing with 500-kilogram ammunition. It is also known that the drone can hit moving targets, act under the guidance of a fifth-generation Su-57 fighter or independently. And the technologies used in it belong to the sixth generation of combat aviation. All this together makes the S-70 one of the most advanced drones in the world, according to 19FortyFive.
Russia is developing several unmanned programs to counter the United States and NATO. Dubbed the "Hunter", the S-70 is built according to the "flying wing" scheme, has low radar visibility and is one of the largest drones in the world. Its take-off weight is about 20 tons, and the turbojet engine allows the drone to fly at speeds up to 900 km / h.
The S-70 has artificial intelligence, which allows it to maneuver and attack in automatic mode. The ability to act independently becomes an important advantage in the conditions of intense electronic warfare. The drone can also work in tandem with the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter: to scout targets for it and attack at the command of the pilot. At least one of the aircraft is undergoing joint tests with a drone, and a special version of the fighter will be able to control four drones.
The Hunter's flight range of 6,000 kilometers allows it to strike far behind the front line and serve as an early warning aircraft. And a solid combat load (according to various estimates from 2.8 to 8 tons) makes the drone a valuable companion in aerial combat.
