The Russian 201st military base in Tajikistan annually trains up to 1,000 junior specialists for the national armed forces.
This was announced by the chief of staff of the compound, Colonel Yevgeny Okhrimenko.
"One of the tasks of the unit is to train junior specialists of the Tajik army in 14 main specialties. Every year, Russian instructors train up to one thousand servicemen of the national armed forces," Okhrimenko told reporters.
He clarified that to date, more than 6 thousand people have already been trained.
Also, according to him, instructors of the Russian military base train Tajik servicemen according to the programs: gunner-operator, mechanic- driver of a tank, infantry fighting vehicle, gunner of an armored personnel carrier, commander of a multiple rocket launcher system, gunner of a self-propelled artillery gun and other specialties.
Okhrimenko noted that the 201st military base is fully staffed with contract servicemen, most of whom took part in carrying out tasks in Syria.
"The personnel maintain a high level of combat readiness and are ready to respond to any threats in the Central Asian region," he added.
According to him, Interfax notes, there are two schools of the military department, a kindergarten and a hospital equipped with modern equipment on the territories of military camps stationed in Dushanbe and Bokhtar. The construction of a new kubrick-type soldiers' dormitory has been completed.
