Moscow. October 23. INTERFAX - A group of ten ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy made a joint patrol in the Pacific Ocean, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"In total, during the practical actions, the ships overcame over 1,700 nautical miles," the military department reported.
They said that the patrol took place between October 17 and 23, 2021.
"As part of the patrol, a group of ships passed through the Sangar Strait for the first time. The sailors of Russia and China worked out joint tactical maneuvering, conducted a number of trainings," the military said.
According to them, the tasks of the patrol were the demonstration of the national flags of Russia and China, the maintenance of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the protection of objects of maritime economic activity of the two countries.
As part of a joint detachment of 10 ships, the Russian Federation was represented by the forces of the Pacific Fleet - the ship of the measuring complex "Marshal Krylov", the large anti-submarine ships "Admiral Tributs" and "Admiral Panteleev", as well as the corvettes of project 20380 "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" and "Loud".
