Israeli startup Air has presented the concept of a personal aircraft vertical takeoff and landing Air One for personal use. With a cruising speed of 161 kilometers per hour, it will be able to fly up to 177 kilometers. The company is already testing a prototype and is going to certify it in 2023.

Most projects of electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft assume that they will be used as an air taxi. But some developers still create them for personal use. For example, the American company NeXt and the Japanese Tetra Aviation .

Air unveiled its Air One sports electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft on October 19. It is made according to the aircraft scheme and is equipped with eight lifting screws for vertical takeoff and landing. Air One is designed for two people. Its maximum speed is 250 kilometers per hour, and cruising speed is 161 kilometers per hour. On a single battery charge, it flies up to 177 kilometers. It will take an hour to fully recharge it.

The Israeli startup has already started testing a full-scale prototype of its aircraft, but has not yet shown it. The company plans to certify it in 2023. What license is needed to fly on Air One is unclear. But Air promises that it will be easy to operate the device, and it will be suitable for daily use.

Among the electric personal flying vehicles there is a separate class of hoverbikes. These are compact devices with an open body, on which the pilot sits like on a motorcycle. In Russia, the Hoversurf company, which we wrote about earlier, is engaged in their development.
