"On October 19, 2021, Russian airspace controls over the neutral waters of the Black Sea detected air targets approaching the state border of the Russian Federation. In order to identify air targets and prevent violations of the state border of the Russian Federation, two Su-30 fighters from the naval aviation and air defense forces of the Black Sea Fleet on duty were lifted into the air," the ministry said.

The Defense Ministry noted that after the reversal of foreign military aircraft from the state border of the Russian Federation, Russian fighters safely returned to the home airfield.
"The flight of Russian aircraft was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace. Violations of the state border of the Russian Federation have not been allowed," the Defense Ministry stressed.
