Three interstate standards for such a relatively new industry as extreme robotics will be developed by scientists of the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) EMERCOM of Russia. This information was announced at the first international scientific and practical conference of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on the development of robotics Roboemercom.
The need to establish standards for special rescue robots is due to the fact that the created devices must meet high technical characteristics. Unreliable machines that can fail in a real emergency situation should not enter the Russian market. In conditions of low temperatures or high radiation, equipment failure can be very expensive.
"In the Russian Federation at the moment there are no standards defining the requirements for extreme robotics for the needs of GOChS. The current standards relate mainly to industrial and special robotics. The State Research Institute of the State Emergency Service begins work on standardization of special robotics, which is an important part of emergency rescue equipment. The result will be the adoption of three interstate standards defining the requirements for extreme robotics," Vladimir Moshkov, Deputy head of the Institute, said in his report at the conference.
The development of new GOST standards will be carried out within the framework of the implementation of the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union "On the safety of products intended for civil defense and protection from natural and man-made emergencies", adopted on October 5 this year.
It is planned that the finished GOST standards will come into force in June 2023. They will be mandatory in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
