Rostov-on-Don. October 20. INTERFAX - Specialists of the communications troops of the Southern Military District (SE) conducted a large-scale radio training on data exchange, ensuring stable continuous communication between the field control points of formations and military units, air Force and air defense units, as well as military bases in Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Armenia.
"The training took place within the framework of a bilateral command and staff exercise (KShU) on the management of the district's troops in the Southwestern strategic direction under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District (SE)," said Colonel Vadim Astafyev, head of the press service of the Southern Military District.
Thus, more than 1.5 thousand signalmen completed the tasks of covert movement of equipment, held closed videoconference sessions, electronic data exchange in conditions of radio suppression.
"The servicemen ensured uninterrupted and stable control of the troops during the day and at night in the conditions of the use of electronic warfare, toxic substances by the "enemy", the actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups and attacks by strike unmanned aerial vehicles," the report says.
About 200 pieces of equipment were involved in the training.
The exercises of the Southern Military District communications units were held at combined-arms training grounds stationed in the Volgograd and Rostov regions, in Stavropol and Kuban, in Dagestan, North Ossetia, as well as at Russian military bases in Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Armenia.
