The company does not cope with the function of the general contractor of construction works at the cosmodrome, the interlocutor of TASS noted
MOSCOW, October 20. /tass/. Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin "gave a dressing down" to the Director General of the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure Facilities (CENKI) Ruslan Mukhamedzhanov due to dissatisfaction with the progress of construction work at the Vostochny cosmodrome. This was reported to TASS by a source in the rocket and space industry.
"At a meeting held on Tuesday to assess the activities and performance discipline of the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure, the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin gave a dressing down to the general director of the company Ruslan Mukhamedzhanov, because the company can not cope with the function of the general contractor for construction work on the East," the agency interlocutor said.
According to the source, the company will remain the general contractor of construction works upon completion of the construction of the first stage, while Konstantin Matveev, Deputy Director General of Roscosmos, was instructed to form a "capable team of specialists in the construction block of the CENKI as soon as possible and to direct it."
The source also noted that it was decided to transfer the legal addresses of the CENKI and the directorate of the Vostochny cosmodrome from Moscow to Tsiolkovsky in order to increase taxes for the social development of the city.
In July 2020, Roscosmos announced that CENKI would become the general contractor and sole contractor for the construction of unfinished objects of the first stage of the Vostochny cosmodrome.
