MOSCOW, October 20. /tass/. The communications troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will receive more than 12 thousand samples of modern equipment this year. This was announced by the head of the Main Communications Department of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin, in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper on the eve of the Day of the Signal Troops.
"By the end of 2021, more than 12 thousand units of modern communication equipment will be delivered to the troops," he said.
According to him, this will allow for a phased transfer of the military communications system to digital methods of processing and transmitting information.
"However, we are not standing still and in the next three years we plan to reach an even higher figure - 76% of modern communications equipment in the troops," Shamarin stressed.
The Day of the military signalman is celebrated in Russia annually on October 20. On this day in 1919, special communications troops were formed.
