MOSCOW, October 15. /tass/. The launch of the Soyuz-ST-B carrier rocket with Galileo spacecraft from the Kourou cosmodrome in French Guiana is scheduled for December 1, 2021. This was reported on Friday in Roscosmos.
"The launch of the Soyuz-ST-B carrier rocket with Galileo spacecraft is scheduled for December 1, 2021," the state corporation said.
The day before, the Toucan ship arrived at the port of Pariacabo in French Guiana with two Soyuz-ST launch vehicles and a head fairing, Fregat upper stages and other equipment. According to Roscosmos, after unloading, special containers with high-tech equipment will be sent for storage to the installation and testing building of the Soyuz launch complex at the Guiana Space Center.
Currently, specialists of the V. P. Barmin Research Institute of Launch Complexes (a branch of the Center for the Operation of Ground-based Space Infrastructure Facilities, part of Roscosmos) have begun work on preparing for the launch of spacecraft of the European Galileo satellite system.
Soyuz v GCC is an international space project of the state corporation Roscosmos, the European Space Agency, the National Center for Space Research of France and the cooperation of leading enterprises of the rocket and space industry of Russia and France. As part of the project, the specialists of CENKI built a special launch complex for Soyuz-ST launch vehicles at the Guiana Space Center. Since the first launch on October 21, 2011, 25 Soyuz-ST rocket launches have already been carried out.
