TSAMTO, October 15. Zhong Hang - Zhi (ZHZ) Science and Technology Ltd. demonstrated an improved version of the TD220 vertical takeoff and landing UAV at the Airshow China 2021 exhibition held recently in Zhuhai.
As reported by Airrecognition.com TD220 is a helicopter-type UAV equipped with coaxial rotors, which, thanks to the replacement of many mechanical components with electric ones, contains half as many parts as the rotors of the Kamov company. The TD220 requires a 5 by 5 m pad for takeoff and landing.
UAVs are offered both for civilian use and for equipping security forces and police. It is reported that TD220 can be used to perform a wide range of tasks, including reconnaissance, detection of minefields, communication relay, supply of troops, countering smuggling, monitoring of power lines and forests, as well as aerial photography.
The duration of the TD220 flight with a 50-kg payload during observation is up to 5 hours. The device with a maximum take-off weight of 350 kg can reach a cruising speed of about 100 km / h, the practical ceiling is 4000 m. A set of sensors is placed in the reconnaissance station installed in the lower bow.
The TD220 UAV was first demonstrated in 2014 at the Singapore Air Show. By the current exhibition, the UAV's appearance has been improved, but the design with a coaxial main rotor and an H-shaped tail has been preserved.
