VLADIVOSTOK, October 15. /tass/. Ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy at the exercises "Maritime Interaction - 2021" in the Sea of Japan conducted artillery firing on a mock mine, practicing the fight against mine danger, the press service of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) reported on Friday.
"During the first stage of the exercise, the base minesweepers of the Pacific Fleet carried out wiring for the trawls of ships of the two countries and ensured the deployment of forces in the waters of the Sea of Japan. <...> At the combat training range, the joint detachment worked out tasks for mine defense of ships. As part of this episode, the ships conducted artillery firing on a mock-up of a sea floating mine that poses a danger to navigation," the report says.
The exercises take place in the Sea of Japan on October 14-17. The Russian Navy is represented by the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev, the corvettes Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and Loud, two base minesweepers, the submarine Ust-Bolsheretsk, as well as a missile boat and a rescue tug. From the Naval Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA), destroyers "Kun Ming" and "Nan Chang", corvettes "Bin Zhou" and "Liu Zhou", as well as a diesel submarine, an integrated supply ship and a rescue vessel are involved.
In addition to the ship component, 12 aircraft and helicopters of the naval aviation of the Pacific Fleet and the PLA Navy were involved in the Russian-Chinese exercises.
