The Russian-Chinese exercises "Maritime Cooperation – 2021" have started in the Sea of Japan, which will last until October 17. This was announced on October 14 by the press service of the Eastern Military District (VVO) for the Pacific Fleet (TOF).

"In the course of practical actions, the crews of the ships of the two countries will work out joint tactical maneuvering, mine protection of detachments, conduct artillery firing at sea targets, search for and block a submarine of a conditional enemy in the designated area," the message says.

It is noted that from the Russian Navy, combat ships and support vessels of the Pacific Fleet will be involved, among which are the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev, the corvettes of Project 20380 Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov and Loud, two base minesweepers, the submarine of Project 877 Ust-Bolsheretsk and a missile boat, as well as a rescue tug.

The Chinese Navy will be represented by the destroyers "Kun Ming" and "Nan Chang", an integrated supply ship, a rescue vessel, a diesel submarine, corvettes "Bin Zhou" and "Liu Zhou".

"In addition to the ship component, 12 aircraft and helicopters of naval aviation of the Pacific Fleet and the PLA Navy have been involved in the Russian-Chinese exercise," the press service added.

In 2020, the exercise did not take place due to restrictive measures due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In August 2005, the first joint naval maneuvers of Russia and China took place in the Yellow Sea under the name "Peace Mission 2005" under the auspices of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

On September 27, the press service of the Eastern Military District (VVO) informed about the Selenga-2021 exercises of Russia and Mongolia, which began with the first joint training at the Doityn Am Mongolian training ground. Motorized rifle and tank units practiced an offensive with deployment into the battle line at a given speed, and also competed in such sports as Mongolian national wrestling, football, volleyball, shooting from a Makarov pistol and a paramilitary relay race. On the part of Russia, air defense units with a deployment in Buryatia participate in Selenga-2021. In total, 1.5 thousand military personnel, as well as more than 200 units of combat and special equipment were involved in the exercises.
