TSAMTO, October 13. Within the framework of the Partner-2021 international defense exhibition taking place in Belgrade (Serbia), the Serbian company Yugoimport SDPR presented a new BBM with an 8x8 wheel formula, called LAZANSKI.
As reported by Armyrecognition.com The LAZANSKI 8x8 is designed and developed by Yugoimport using the latest innovations and technologies in the field of firepower, protection and mobility. Heavy-duty world-class components, special materials and technologies are used in the design of the machine, which will allow the model to compete with other modern BBMs on the world market of military products.
LAZANSKI is a new armored personnel carrier that does not belong to the Lazar family of armored vehicles with an 8x8 wheel formula. The BBM body is made of all-welded steel armor and can additionally be equipped with a mounted set of ceramic armor, which provides ballistic protection that meets the requirements of STANAG-4569 Level.5 (protection against fire from 25 mm caliber weapons). If necessary, the protection can be increased to Level.6 (from firing 30 mm APFSDS or AP type ammunition from a distance of 500 m). The case has a V-shaped bottom and provides mine protection that meets the requirements of STANAG-4569 Level.4 (protection against detonation on mines with TNT equivalent of 10 kg under the hull and under the wheels).
LAZANSKI has a conventional layout with a power unit in the front part on the right, a driver's seat on the left and a protected landing compartment in the aft part. The crew of the car is three people, including the driver, commander and gunner. The landing compartment can accommodate up to 10 people on mine-resistant seats. A ramp with a hydraulic drive is mounted in the stern, which allows for quick landing and disembarkation of troops.
The total weight of the armored vehicle ranges from 26 to 36 tons, depending on the configuration of the armor. The LAZANSKI BBM is equipped with a 711 hp Caterpillar C13 engine, aggregated with a 6-speed Allison 4000SP automatic transmission.
The standard set of LAZANSKI equipment includes 6 integrated day / infrared cameras providing a 360 degree view, an intercom system, 10-inch and 12-inch screens for the crew and troops integrated with a programmable video system, an inertial navigation system, a combat control system, a protection system against airborne threats, air conditioning.
LAZANSKI's armament is a Russian remotely controlled AU-220M armament module with a 57 mm automatic cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun paired with it. The tower allows you to hit targets on the spot and in motion. The fire control system is used to detect, identify targets, as well as guide weapons. The maximum firing range of the 57 mm cannon is 14.5 km.
